Arthur B. Ellis has served as Vice Chancellor for Research at UC San
Diego since 2006. Prior to joining UC San Diego, Ellis served as
Director of the Division of Chemistry at the National Science Foundation
from 2002-06. Before that, Ellis served as Meloche-Bascom Professor
of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Ellis earned
his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from Caltech and MIT, respectively.
