Samer
Salty
Samer has over twenty years of experience in venture capital, investment
banking and technology in Europe and the United States.
Samer co-founded zouk in 1999 and has successfully raised two technology venture
funds including Cleantech Europe. Samer has considerable management experience
and has spent the last seven years building zouk and many of the firm’s
current portfolio companies including a leading carbon emissions company.
Samer currently sits on the Board of Orb Energy and YAC Ltd and was on the Board
of Mondus Ltd (Seat Pagine Gialle S.p.A.), Peoplesound (Vitaminic S.p.A.) and
IntelligentApps (SAGE).
Prior to founding zouk, Samer worked on M&A and private equity transactions
within the Telecom, Media and Technology Group at J.P. Morgan. He was also head
of Global Markets for the Middle East region at J.P. Morgan, structuring large
corporate finance and derivatives transactions with institutional clients.
Before investment banking, Samer spent seven years designing and implementing
communications and computer systems for the FAA of the US Government and a number
of other international Civil Aviation Authorities. He also led and managed large
FAA projects while at Martin Marietta and worked both directly and as a consultant
for AT&T, Lockheed, and Hughes Aircraft.
Samer holds a B.S. in Electronic Engineering specialising in fibre optic from
Cal Poly and a M.S. in Finance from MIT. He is a member of the International
Council of the Kennedy School Belfer Centre at Harvard University.
